
St. Anthony of Padua in Effingham, Illinois, is a Catholic parish of more than 1,300 families. Its first Mass was celebrated on Christmas Day 1858, St. Anthony Church is the oldest church in Effingham, and the parish is home to the largest Catholic school system within a 70-mile radius, with St. Anthony Grade School and St. Anthony High School. Since 1997 the parish has given away a Corvette or cash prize every year in its Corvette Raffle, one of the primary fundraisers for St. Anthony High School.
