Short answers about how OldCarRaffle.com works. If your question isn’t here, send us a message.
For raffle fans
Does OldCarRaffle.com run these raffles?
No. OldCarRaffle.com is a free list of charity car raffles from organizations across the US and Canada. We don’t run raffles, sell tickets or handle any money. Think of each listing as a newspaper ad. The organization holding the raffle handles the tickets, the rules, the drawing and the winner.
We aren’t part of, connected to or affiliated with any of the organizations holding these raffles.
How do I buy tickets or enter a raffle?
Open the raffle’s page and use the link to the organization’s website. Tickets, rules and all the details come from the organization. We don’t link directly to payment pages.
For any question about a raffle, contact the organization at that link, and tell them you found their fundraiser on OldCarRaffle.com.
Are these raffles legit?
We’d never knowingly post a false, misleading or fraudulent raffle. Organizations that post with us confirm their raffle is legal and has the permits it needs. Even so, we don’t speak for or guarantee any raffle, and it’s up to you to check the organization out before you buy a ticket.
Good places to check: IRS.gov (Charities & Non-Profits) and the Better Business Bureau, which covers the US and Canada. More in our Website Disclaimer.
What does the green Verified badge on a raffle mean?
It means we found the organization’s EIN (federal tax ID) in ProPublica’s nonprofit database. The line reads “Listed in ProPublica’s nonprofit database.” The EIN itself is kept private and isn’t shown on the site.
The badge is one check, not a guarantee. The disclaimer still applies.
Why does a raffle show a date in the future?
Each raffle page is dated with its drawing date. A raffle drawn on October 28, 2026 shows “Drawing Date” and that date at the top of its page. The Active Raffles list is in order of drawing date, soonest first.
If ticket sales end before the drawing, the raffle page says so, for example “(ending 9/27/2026).”
What happens after the drawing? Who won?
About 24 hours after the drawing date, the raffle moves from Active to Past Raffles, and its page is marked “THIS EVENT IS OVER.” Past raffles stay on the site as an archive going back to 2008.
For winner information, contact the organization directly. We don’t handle winner notification.
How do I get the newsletter?
Sign up with your email address in the “Get the OldCarRaffle Newsletter” box on the side of every page (below the listings on a phone). It goes out with every 5 new raffles.
Who runs OldCarRaffle.com?
Bill Sr. and Bill. It started in 2006, when Bill Sr., a raffle and old car nut, wanted to find a big list of car raffles online. The one or two sites listing car raffles charged for the service. Charities are trying to raise money, not spend it, so we built a site that lists them for free. Bill Sr. still does almost all of the posting.

For organizations
How do we get our raffle listed?
Fill out the form on the Free Raffle Post! page. It asks for your organization and raffle website, a private contact, the drawing date, the prize, a little about your organization, the ticket price and your photos. After you click Submit, stay on the page until you see the thank-you message. Photo uploads can take a minute or two.
What does it cost?
Nothing. All raffles are posted free of charge. We don’t take any payment or any cut of ticket sales.
What do we need to have?
A real website for your organization or raffle, not just a Facebook or similar page, because we link to it for ticket sales and details. Your raffle must be legal, with the permits or licenses your state, county or town requires, and the information you send must be true. OldCarRaffle.com may decline or remove any listing.
Good photos help: at least 1,000 pixels wide looks best, and phone photos are fine. You can send up to 20 photos.
How long until it’s live, and how long does it stay up?
We get an email the moment you submit. We review every submission and it goes live shortly; we email you when it’s up. It also goes out on our social media and in the newsletter.
There’s no time limit. We’ll post it for a week, a month or a year, and it stays in Past Raffles after the drawing.
Why do you ask for our EIN?
We check every EIN in ProPublica’s nonprofit database. When it’s found, your listing gets the green Verified badge. Your EIN is kept private and never shown on the site.
Can we link to OldCarRaffle.com from our website?
Yes, and thank you. The Website Badge page has our logo in three sizes (125, 200 and 250 pixels). Copy the code in the gray box under the size you want and paste it into your page. If you need a different size or a hand with the code, send us a message.
