Privacy Policy for OldCarRaffle.com

Last updated: October 2026

Who we are

OldCarRaffle.com is a hobby website run by Bill Kelly Sr. and Bill Kelly Jr.. For about 20 years it has listed charity car raffles in the United States and Canada so car fans can find them and the organizations running them can sell more tickets. We do not run the raffles ourselves, sell tickets, or handle any raffle money.

This page explains what information the site collects, why, who else may receive it, and the choices you have. If you have any questions, email us at thatbillkelly@gmail.com.

What we collect

Server logs. Our web host (HostGator) automatically keeps standard server logs, like almost every website. These logs can include your IP address, browser type, the pages you request, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit. We use them to keep the site running, fix problems, and protect it from abuse.

Cookies. Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. The site and the third-party services described on this page use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and tags) for things like counting visits, keeping embedded features working, and showing and measuring ads. See “Your choices” below for how to control them.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages are popular, and how people find the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site. We see this as summary reports; we do not use it to identify individual visitors. You can read how Google uses this data at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Raffle submission and contact forms. If you submit a raffle or send us a message through the form on our About page, we collect what you type in, such as your organization’s name, your name, phone number, email address, raffle details, and any photos you upload. The forms run on our own WordPress site (using the Forminator plugin). Submissions are stored on the site and emailed to the site owner.

Newsletter. If you sign up for our email newsletter, your email address goes to Mailchimp, the service we use to send it. Mailchimp may use Google reCAPTCHA on its signup page to block spam sign-ups. Mailchimp’s privacy practices are described in the Intuit Privacy Statement.

Embedded features from other companies. Some parts of our pages load from other companies’ servers, which means those companies receive your IP address and browser information and may set their own cookies. These include Google Fonts (for the site’s typefaces), the YouTube subscribe button (loaded from Google), and the Ultimate Social Media Icons plugin, which links to our Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube pages. If you click through to one of those sites, its own privacy policy applies.

How we use information

  • To list raffles. When you submit a raffle, the listing details you send (such as the organization’s name, the raffle details, photos, and the ticket website or contact information you provide for buyers) may be published as a post on the site.
  • To reply to you. We use your name, email address, and phone number to answer questions, confirm details about a listing, or follow up about your submission.
  • To send the newsletter, if you signed up for it.
  • To understand how the site is used and to keep it working and secure.
  • To show ads and affiliate links, which help pay the costs of running the site.

We do not sell the information you send us through our forms or newsletter signup. Advertising on the site works differently; see the next two sections.

Advertising

We are moving our ads from Google AdSense to Journey by Mediavine. While Google AdSense ads are still running, Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalized Google ads at Google Ad Settings, and you can read more at How Google uses cookies in advertising.

Once the switch is complete, ads on OldCarRaffle.com will be managed by Mediavine through its Journey program. Mediavine and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your browsing so they can show ads that are more likely to interest you and measure how well those ads work. Mediavine’s own required notice, which describes exactly what it collects and how to opt out, appears in full at the bottom of this page under “Mediavine Advertising Privacy Notice.”

Opting out of personalized ads does not remove ads. You will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests.

Affiliate links

OldCarRaffle.com is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

That means if you click an Amazon link on this site (such as the products in our Amazon box) and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Amazon may use cookies to track that the purchase came from our link. Amazon’s practices are described in the Amazon Privacy Notice.

Links to other websites

Most raffle listings link to the website of the charity or organization running the raffle, where you can learn more or buy tickets. Those sites are run by the organizations, not by us. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their privacy policies before giving them your information.

Children

This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information, please email us and we will delete it.

Your choices

  • Cookies: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. All About Cookies explains how. Blocking cookies may keep some features from working.
  • Google Analytics: You can opt out with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Personalized ads: Use the opt-out tools listed in the Mediavine notice below, such as the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) WebChoices tool, the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) opt-out, or, in Canada, YourAdChoices.ca. For Google ads, use Google Ad Settings.
  • Newsletter: Click the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any newsletter email.
  • Your information: Email us at thatbillkelly@gmail.com if you want to see, correct, or remove information you sent us, or if you want a raffle listing changed or taken down.

Privacy rights in certain US states

Residents of some US states, such as California, have privacy rights under state law. Depending on where you live, these may include the right to know what personal information is collected about you, to access, correct, or delete it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information for targeted advertising.

We do not sell the information you give us through our forms or newsletter. The ad technology on the site may count as “selling” or “sharing” under some state laws. Where required, a “Do Not Sell or Share My Information” link provided by our ad network will appear on the site so you can opt out. Your browser’s Global Privacy Control (GPC) setting may also be honored where the law requires it. For information you sent us directly, email us and we will help. For data collected by Mediavine, you can also contact Mediavine as described in its notice below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we change ad networks or other services. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Mediavine Advertising Privacy Notice v. 1.2

Mediavine works with this site to support the delivery of ads that align with your interests. It collects information about your online activities and browsing information, including websites you visit, pages you view, search terms, the apps you use, the language and device you use, location, and emails from newsletter sign ups. This information is then passed to partners to enable them to display interest based advertising to you.

This Notice is specific to Mediavine and explains how Mediavine collects, uses, shares, or sells your personal information when you visit this site or sign up for a newsletter managed by Mediavine. This website must disclose any collection, use, sharing or sale of personal data beyond the services provided by Mediavine in its own privacy notice (above) and comply with relevant privacy laws.

What personal data does Mediavine collect?

Mediavine may collect:

  • IP Address (unique address that identifies your computer or phone on the internet)
  • Location (country, city, state)
  • Operating System (e.g., Windows or Mac)
  • Device Information (hardware, platform, location and carrier data)
  • Language of the Website or Browser
  • Web Browser Type (e.g., Chrome, Firefox or Safari)
  • Email address

When you visit this site, Mediavine uses cookies and similar technologies, such as pixels and tags, to collect your information about your behavior on this site and other websites you visit, across your devices. These tools track preferences, website visits and activities, interactions with emails and ads, and evaluate effectiveness of emails and ads and record which ads have been shown to you to enable the delivery of interest based ads on this site. To learn more, please visit allaboutcookies.org; ICO – What are cookies and similar technologies; learnwebanalytics.com.

In some cases, Mediavine may manage a site’s newsletter. Mediavine collects your email directly from you through the newsletter sign up form, and will request your consent to use your email for interest based advertising. Your email will be converted into hashed format – a unique set of numbers and letters representing your email – before being sent to partners. If you no longer wish to receive this newsletter, you may unsubscribe at any time using the “Unsubscribe” button.

Does Mediavine share or sell my personal information for interest based advertising?

Yes, Mediavine will use, share, license, sell or otherwise disclose your personal information to our partners to enable interest based advertising to be displayed to you on this site. Through the bidstream, an online marketplace, Mediavine shares data, such as ad location, site content, and your personal information with advertisers. Using this information, advertisers bid for ad space, and the winning bidder gets to display their ad to you on this site.

Mediavine may share your personal data with partners to create a universal (unique) identifier linked to your online behavior and preferences. This identifier is added to the bid request to improve the targeting of interest based ads. Mediavine and its partners may also combine your personal data collected from your interaction with this site with your data that they have collected from other sources to create a profile of your interests and behaviors to provide interest based advertising across your online experience, including devices, browsers, and applications. Mediavine could also license your personal data from its partners to enrich the information in its bid request to advertisers.

To learn more about Mediavine partners, visit mediavine.com/ad-partners.

How can I opt out of interest based advertising?

To opt out of interest based advertising on this site, you may take the following actions:

Cookie Consent – For EU/UK visitors

On first visit to the site, you may reject the use of cookies through the cookie consent banner, shown only where legally required. If you initially accept the use of cookies, but change your mind, you can access the banner by clicking “Update Privacy Settings” at the bottom of the home page to change your preferences at any time.

Disabling Cookies

To learn more about cookies and how to disable them for interest based advertising, visit All About Cookies. Most browsers provide options in their menu to stop accepting new cookies, alert you to new cookies, disable cookies, and clear your browser’s cache or storage. Be aware that blocking cookies may affect your site experience, and essential cookies cannot be disabled as these are necessary for the website to function.

Seeing Ads After Opting Out or Disabling Ads

Disabling cookies or opting out of the sales or sharing of personal data for advertising does not mean you won’t see ads on this website. It means the ads you see will not be personalized to your online behavior and interests.

What are my data protection rights?

Under data protection laws in the EU, UK and certain US states, you may have the right to delete, access, request a copy, and correct your personal information. If you’d like to exercise these rights related to the services we provide to this website, please contact Mediavine at privacy@mediavine.com.
