The R.E. Olds Transportation Museum in Lansing, Michigan, is a nonprofit museum that preserves and promotes Lansing’s automotive heritage and its impact on mid-Michigan and the American auto industry. It is dedicated to Ransom Eli Olds, the Lansing inventor and entrepreneur who founded Olds Motor Works in 1897 and REO Motor Car Company in 1904. Incorporated in 1977 and open to the public since May 18, 1981, the museum houses automobiles, engines and other automotive materials tied to the region’s transportation history, along with the James D. Butt Archives.
