St. Mary of the Knobs in Floyds Knobs, Indiana, founded in 1823, is the oldest parish in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. When it was founded it belonged to the Diocese of Bardstown, Kentucky, one of only five dioceses in the United States at the time. Today it is a growing parish with a Christ-centered Catholic school, committed to worship in the Roman Catholic tradition and to meeting the spiritual, educational and human needs of its parishioners and neighbors.
