St. Bernard of Clairvaux Parish in Tulsa, Oklahoma, began in 1973 as a mission of Saint Clement’s Parish in Bixby, with about fifty families meeting weekly for Mass in the chapel of the Vianney School for Girls, run by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd. In 1978 Bishop Eusebius J. Beltran made St. Bernard’s an independent parish with Father James White as its first pastor, and the parish later bought nine acres of the former Vianney School property from the sisters. Today the parish welcomes people to belong, believe and become, with daily and weekend Masses and weekday adoration.
