The Rotary Club of Washington, Missouri, meets on Thursdays at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Washington. Its car raffle began in 2001 to help fund a concession stand for the town’s soccer fields, and it was renamed the Bill Kluesner Memorial Car Raffle after Rotarian Bill Kluesner, one of its top ticket sellers, died in 2003. The raffle is limited to 1,000 tickets, is drawn each August at the Washington Town and Country Fair, and its proceeds stay in the community.
