Grand Traverse Area Catholic Schools (GTACS) is a Catholic school system in the Traverse City, Michigan, area serving more than 1,000 students from preschool through high school. It is a shared ministry of five local parishes, Christ the King, Immaculate Conception, St. Francis, St. Joseph and St. Patrick, and is part of the Diocese of Gaylord. Catholic education in Traverse City dates back to 1877, when Dominican Sisters arrived and opened a school with six pupils. Its car raffle is part of Gladhander, the schools’ annual auction and raffle fundraiser.
