The Dearborn Fire Department in Michigan protects Dearborn and Melvindale, about 27 square miles and nearly 110,000 residents, and responds to more than 12,500 emergencies a year. Its raffles are run by the Dearborn Firefighters Burn Drive, which the members of Dearborn Firefighters Local 412 started more than 40 years ago to help children who have suffered burn injuries. Under the motto It’s For The Kids, the Burn Drive’s annual car raffle benefits burned and sick children and families in need.
