ConnectionsPlus Healthcare + Hospice in Lexington, Virginia, began at a kitchen table in 1983, when founders Marion Brown, Charlotte Gunn, Helen Hodges and Barbara Tucker started Rockbridge Area Hospice with one patient and income from bake sales. In 2023 Rockbridge Area Hospice and Mountain Regional Hospice joined under the ConnectionsPlus name, and it now serves patients and families across the Shenandoah Valley and Alleghany Highlands. Its services include hospice and advanced illness care, dementia care management, grief counseling and Veterans support, and the WD Goad Memorial Truck Raffle helps fund that care.
