Casa de los Ninos in Tucson, Arizona, was founded in 1973 by Sister Kathleen Clark to protect children from abuse and neglect, after Tucson fashion icon Cele Peterson donated a small building for its first children’s shelter. Its mission is to promote child well-being and family stability. Today it offers counseling, childcare, parenting classes, foster care and developmental homes, and it served about 2,000 children and families in 2025.
