Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer County, based in Trenton, New Jersey, creates and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships for at-risk young people in Mercer County. The chapter was founded by a group of educators and concerned citizens, including then Trenton Mayor Arthur J. Holland, to support local youth, many of whom were living in poverty and in single-parent homes. Since it was reincorporated in 2002 it has served more than 8,000 children, and every ticket for its Sweet Ride Raffle supports its mentoring programs.
