Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church on Cypress Lake Drive in Fort Myers, Florida, grew from a small group of faithful who began meeting in homes and restaurants in 1973 to start a Greek Orthodox church in the city. The parish bought its Cypress Lake Drive property in August 1976, held its first service there in a modular building in April 1977, and consecrated its church on January 17, 1993, and today it serves more than 200 families. Each year the parish hosts Greek Fest Fort Myers, celebrating Greek food, wine, music, dancing and the Greek Orthodox faith, which has run for more than 50 years and featured its car raffle.
