Accelerate The Care in Traverse City, Michigan, is a nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life for caregivers and people affected by Alzheimer’s and other types of dementia in Northern Michigan. Its mission began with the passing of Beverly Davis from Alzheimer’s, and in her name the group helps struggling caregivers through direct funding, offers free Positive Approach to Care workshops for people in caregiving roles, and trains assisted care facilities in Alzheimer’s and dementia care methods. Its Classics for Care raffles give away a classic car several times a year.
