The Children’s Cancer Association is a local non-profit founded in Portland, Oregon with national reach. It is the only organization of its kind, created to fill a need for non-medical care that was unmet by hospitals and community organizations. CCA was founded in 1995 by the Ellis family after their daughter Alexandra died from cancer at 5-years-old. CCA is honored to be recognized as a national leader bringing Joy Rx at no cost to thousands of children and their families each year. Last year, 1,788 volunteer positions were filled and volunteers donated 14,898 hours of service, valued at more than $381,260 invested back into the community.
