1969 MGB Roadster Convertible

The Parkland Education Foundation, Allentown, Pennsylvania;

Whose primary goal is to raise funds to promote and supplement the academics, arts, athletic and co-curricular programs for the benefit of students and staff in the Parkland School District in order to preserve a tradition of excellence and help build the dreams of children in our community.

Since our beginning in 2011, we have made it our mission and goal to enhance a tax-funded education by creating additional opportunities for students through philanthropic means.  To date, we have invested more than $880,000 in programs that benefit students of the Parkland Public School District.

The Parkland School District mission is to ensure that each student is empowered with success strategies for lifelong learning by creating a secure, effective learning environment in collaboration with dedicated staff, involved parents, and a supportive community.

Prize Details

The Parkland Education Foundation
2019 Raffle Grand Prize;

a restored 1969 MGB Roadster Convertible

- Barry Dobil has owned the car for the last 30 years and the car has only about 60,000 miles on it as well as a relatively new engine,

- Moss Motors, who makes the MGB, agreed to donate all the parts needed for an interior restoration

- LCTI teacher Carey Troxell in the Auto Body/Collision Repair Technology Program and his Parkland students, Hailey Booth, Luis Solano and Nicholas Lopez, took on the challenge of installing the new parts and the car now sports new black leather seats with red piping, new carpeting, 3-point seat belts, and trim work.
- Integrity Auto gave the car an extensive mechanical renewal including a change of all fluids, Pennsylvania state inspection and a tune-up at no charge.
- And finally, Ruozzi Brothers Classic Cars donated their services to detail the car, making its chrome sparkle.

Drawing will take place during the Parkland Education Foundation sponsored Harlem Wizards basketball game at Parkland High School.
