On August 5, 1984, The Columbus Symphony Orchestra, under the baton of Music Director Christian Badea, presented a Picnic and Pops concert at Ohio University-Lancaster. This was the first concert held at OU-L’s outdoor auditorium.

The Lancaster Festival was inaugurated in 1985, under the artistic direction of Maestro Badea.  Artistic Advisor Al Romano was joined by Festival Managers Eleanor Hood and Barbara Hunzicker in planning the event.

Mission: We believe the arts express the essence of what it means to be fully human. The Lancaster Festival celebrates the artistic creativity of all cultures, serving as the foundation of year-round community efforts to nurture participation in the arts.

Prize Details

The Lancaster Festival and Matt Taylor KIA of Lancaster have teamed up for a unique fundraising opportunity.

The Lancaster Festival 2019 Raffle Grand Prize;

a 2020 Kia Telluride ( now a 2021 Telluride)
The Telluride is Mototrend’s 2020 SUV of the Year and Car and Driver’s Top 10.

- or - $20,000 Cash

The Lancaster Festival will pay the sales tax associated with winning the 2020 Kia Telluride.

This raffle is based on the gracious support of Matt Taylor Kia of Lancaster.

- Due to COVID-19 we have had to cancel the 2020 Lancaster Festival.
- The information for the car raffle is the same except the drawing date is now July 31, 2021 .

- Matt Taylor Kia has actually switched out our 2020 Kia Telluride for a 2021.
- So we are now raffling a 2021 Telluride instead of a 2020.
- All previously purchased tickets will remain valid
- New 2021 car pictures due soon.
