Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. was created in May 2009 as a non-profit 501(c)3 animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers and does not have a paid staff or a shelter. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc relies solely on volunteer foster families to take huskies into their homes until permanent, qualified, and loving homes can be found. Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is a responsible animal adoption agency and requires that all dogs over 6 months are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We ensure that none of our dogs will ever contribute to the overpopulation of dogs in our community. The work of Texas Husky Rescue, Inc. is supported by tax-deductible contributions by individuals, corporations, and grants.

Our initial goal when we began in 2009 was to save 30 huskies from area shelters. In 2010, we saved over 140 huskies from all over the state and several from out of state. In 2011, we adopted out 181 huskies!

Mission Statement: To rescue, rehabilitate, and find qualified loving homes for neglected, abused, and unwanted Huskies throughout Texas and beyond. To educate the public about responsible pet ownership and the special qualities of the Siberian Husky Breed.

Prize Details

Grand Prize:  1976 Rolls Royce Silver Shadow Long-wheelbase: expensive rebuild with new Wilton Wool carpets bound in leather as original in the cockpit and trunk. The interior wood has all been expensively and professionally refinished and is about as fine as they get. Avon tires are fitted.

  • Remove and rebuild the front and rear brake calipers with stainless steel pistons
  • Replace the brake pads
  • Replace all hydraulic hoses (12)
  • Replace the brake distribution valves
  • Replace the front and rear brake rotors
  • Replace the front and rear wheel bearings
  • Remove, clean and reseal the brake fluid reservoir
  • Rebuild and charge the brake accumulators
  • Rebuild the brake pumps
  • Replace the front and rear shock absorbers
  • Replace all front suspension bushings
  • Replace upper and lower ball joints
  • Rebuild tie rods
  • Rebuild the power steering box
  • Remove and rebuild the carburetors
  • Replace the valve cover gaskets
  • Replace the radiator hoses
  • Remove and rebuild the rear suspension rams and height control valves
  • Rebuild the automatic transmission
  • Replace torque converter
  • Replace engine mounts
  • Replace fan belts
  • Remove and service rear axles and replace the boots
  • Recore the radiator with a high efficiency core
  • Rebuild the water pump
  • Rebuild the steering column u-joint
  • Replace the front sway bar bushings and links
  • Replace all engine vacuum lines
  • Replace thermostat
  • Replace valve cover gaskets
  • Replace ignition cables, spark plugs, cap and rotor
  • Install new Alpine stereo and speakers
  • Replace electric aerial
  • Service electric door locks and windows
  • Remove all gauges
  • Remove glasses and clean
  • Make and fit new a/c hoses
  • Replace a/c compressor with a new unit ( not rebuilt)
  • Replace dryer and expansion valve
  • Replace horns, Replace seat belts
  • Replace engine oil and filter
  • Replace differential oil
  • Replace wiper arms and wiper blades
  • Replace two door lock solenoids
  • Remove dash top and clean all wiring connections
  • Replace wiper module, fit automatic transmission cooler and hoses
  • Replace cockpit carpets with original Wilton carpets bound in leather
  • Replace door carpet sections with Wilton wool carpets bound in leather
  • Replace trunk carpets with original Wilton wool bound in leather
  • Remove all cockpit wood and have refinished
  • Remove back glass and replace with new factory glass
  • Replace front turn lenses
  • Replace trunk seal
  • Replace bonnet buffers
