Proceeds from the raffle go to Agricultural Scholarships and “Ag-in-the-Classroom” Programs. The Kane County Farm Bureau Foundation was established in 1986 by the Kane County Farm Bureau to carry out charitable work in the advancement of agricultural literacy and preparing students and leaders for careers in the agriculture industry. Over $25,000 in Scholarships and Internships were awarded for the 2007-08 school year.

As a not-for-profit entity, the Kane County Farm Bureau Foundation solicits and distributes private funding for agriculturally related education and leadership training, Ag-in-the-Classroom programs, Ag Literacy Library development, charitable activities and research. In recent years the Foundation has redoubled its efforts to support agricultural education at every grade level, including teaching teachers. The goal of this early and repeated exposure to farm and food topics is a greater consumer understanding of the food chain and ultimately more qualified high school graduates pursuing agricultural careers.

The Kane County Farm Bureau was one of the first county Farm Bureaus in the nation to organize and has a date of 1912 on its charter. Today we serve both rural and urban people who are interested in the well-being of agriculture. Farm Bureau is a voice for farmers and others who have a vested interest in agriculture. Our mission is to “Enhance the quality of life for member families, promote all aspects of agriculture and advocate good stewardship of our land and resources”.

The Rotary Club of Everett-Port Gardner is a charitable organization located in Everett, Washington. Our mission is to foster the ideals of community service, promote high ethical standards in business and professions, and advance understanding, goodwill, and peace through fellowship of persons united by serving local and global society.  The primary fundraiser for the club is its annual car raffle. In an effort to celebrate the 12^th anniversary of giving away classic cars, The Rotary Club of Everett Port Gardner searched out the country to find this “over the top” 1957 Chevrolet Bel-Air hardtop.

The annual raffle is our fundraiser for continued support of the programs and projects which include:

Community Service Projects and Programs:

Special Olympics, Everett Community College Scholarships, Cocoon House, Volunteers of America Food Bank, Children’s Museum, Senior Service Projects and the Elementary School Literacy Program.

International Service Projects and Programs:

Hands for Peacemaking, Tru Vine Toga Orphanage, Water Well Projects in Mozambique and School/Literacy projects in Guatemala.

Canastota Pop Warner organization started in 1948 by Sam Russo.

It origionally serviced 1 team for several years. Over the past 12 years the Canastota program has grown to have 6 differant teams at 5 levels. We Have cheering squads which represent all of those teams. We average 170 children in the program every year. This year marks a very expensive year for us due to new regulation in the National Pop Warner organization. We are in need of new helmets for the upcoming year.

The car raffle will allow us to raise the amount of funds we need to provide all of our athletes with new helmets. We are only selling a total of 5000 tickets!

Economics Arkansas (through the Arkansas Council on Economic Education) is a private, non-profit, non-partisan, educational organization founded in 1962 by Dr. Bessie B. Moore to promote economic literacy in Arkansas.

The mission of Economics Arkansas is to promote economic literacy and the economic-way of thinking to PreK-12 students in Arkansas by empowering educators to teach the fourth “r,” real life economics.

Real life economics teaches students:

• To invest in their human capital, opening opportunities to the American Dream.
• Decision-making skills and the costs associated with each decision.
• Financial skills to better manage their resources in the future.
• About the global market and their future roles as producers and consumers.

Economic education is real life, because all young people will grow up and become part of the marketplace.  Economics Arkansas provides resources and training to PreK-12 teachers in both public and independent schools in Arkansas.  Our belief is that through training teachers, the multiplier effect is achieved.  Each school year, the training a teacher receives through Economics Arkansas can impact new children.

Our vision is to create a state of people with the real life skills they need to succeed: to think and choose responsibly as individuals, consumers, savers, investors, citizens, members of the workforce, and to be effective participants in both their local communities and the global economy.  Economic literacy is essential to improve the standard of living for all Arkansans, and essential to increase economic development opportunities for Arkansas.
