Raffle Benefits

Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation’s Adult Day Care Program provides relief from the constant supervision, companionship, therapeutic and personal care of the dementia patient. A protective environment in a home-like atmosphere, staffed with caring health professionals and volunteers serves the needs of frail elders and their families with dignity, empathy and respect. Friends and family who are coping with round-the-clock caregiving can enjoy peace of mind when they enroll loved ones in the program, which is specifically designed to encompass the capabilities of each client.

Caregivers who place Alzheimer patients in daycare programs have lower levels of care giving-related stress, better attendance at work and better psychological well-being than persons who do not use this service. Three important needs are addressed through the program: socialization, safety and respite. Activities modified for the cognitively impaired and a full day of socialization with peers are offered. Adult daycare can also reduce behavioral problems and prevent excess disability and functional decline. Program objectives include assisting clients in maximizing their existing health and abilities, allowing clients to remain in their homes longer, maintaining health and mental stability and enabling caregivers to function longer in a care giving role.

Raffle Benefits

The Jackson Symphony Orchestra of Jackson, Michigan has a rich and vibrant history serving the Jackson area for 60 years. Our mission is to add value, joy and enrichment to the lives of all Jackson area residents through music. The Jackson Symphony strives to impact the lives of everyone in the community either directly through performances and education programs or indirectly by offering positive programs and arts support in collaboration with community agencies, educators and other arts organizations.

The orchestra has performed with many legendary figures in the world of music including Dizzy Gillespie, Grant Johannesen, Ralph Votapek and Ian Hobson. Mannheim Steamroller, Ann Murray, and the Manhattan Transfer have invited the orchestra to do multi-state regional tours with them. The repertoire of the orchestra has been adventurous (including two entire seasons where every piece performed was from the 20th Century) and has drawn national attention as evidenced by frequent grants from the National Endowment for the Arts. The orchestra has premiered works by such distinguished composers as Jeff Beal, Crawford Gates, David Gibson, Robert De Gaetano, Falla Guitar Trio and it’s own composer in residence, J. Bruce Brown.

Operas including Tosca, La Boheme, Merry Wives of Windsor, Die Fledermaus have been presented in fully staged productions and eight different collaborations with the Indianapolis Ballet and Grand Rapids Ballet have resulted in magical productions of Sleeping Beauty and Nutcracker.

Raffle Car

This 1970 Mustang was donated to the Jackson Symphony Orchestra. The Ford Motor Company produced 93,765 Mustangs with the 302 cu.in. V-8 engine in 1970 and only 7,820 of those were convertibles. There are few remaining.

This car runs well and has a lot of power with the V-8 engine. It has power steering and an automatic transmission. The white convertible top is powered, making it very easy to put it up and down. The interior is red with bucket seats and looks almost brand new. It is truly a classic muscle car.

The local car collector who donated it to the Symphony owned it for 20 years and decided to downsize his fleet. He is a big supporter of the Jackson Symphony and decided that it would be a good way to show support for us. The Jackson Symphony Orchestra is a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

There will be a maximum of 300 tickets sold and the way to win the Mustang AND $2,500 cash – OR – $10,000 cash is to purchase a raffle ticket from the Jackson Symphony Orchestra for $100. Tickets must be purchased in person, by phone or by mail.

The Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation has been provided with some of the most collectible cars for raffle in the world to raise money for our nonprofit. These same cars could easily bring large amounts of money at any Barrett Jackson, or similar collector auto auctions.

In recent years, the ALZ BBQ and Car Drawing has grown to unforseen heights, and staff at the Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation have worked tirelessly to make this fundraiser a huge success. This event now gains the attention of thousands throughout the year at different events, and by reaching out on the Internet. The past few ALZ BBQ’s have had over 2,000 donors in attendance to enjoy BBQ, and watch the event live. With all the bbq you can eat, free soda, beer, and water; this has turned into one of the largest fundraisers in Brevard County. The Superbird has become quite valuable. A Superbird can fetch anywhere from $300,000 to $2,000,000. At Barrett Jackson, bids for original Superbirds crossed $1,200,000.
