About

Hello and welcome to OldCarRaffle.com. This site is dedicated to helping organizations that are holding fund raising car and truck raffles with their online advertising efforts. All posting of charity raffles is done completely free of charge. All raffles are posted only with permission from the organization.

A bit about me: In 2006 my father, a complete raffle and old car nut, wanted to find a big list of car raffles online. I found one or two sites that had a few raffles listed but they charged for the service. Figuring that Charities are trying to make money, not spend it, we got the idea to build a website that would gather a bunch of car raffles from across the nation all in one place and post them for free. OldCarRaffle.com was born. Now, mind you, I’d never built a website before and had zero idea what I was doing (still don’t!). None. No programming skills, no knowledge of computer languages, no idea how the whole thing worked at all. I made every mistake you can possibly make and even came up with some new ones. But I’ve had a ton of fun and learned an amazing amount along the way.

As the site gained in popularity (much to my surprise) the requests for posting motorcycle raffles started rolling in as well. HarleyDavidsonRaffles.com was built up and launched in late 2006. Along the way I’ve not only learned a ton about building and running websites but also have met some amazing people from all over the country and Canada.

In 2007 I started putting down several of the things I’d learned from raffle holders, and my personal observations, on TheRaffleSite.com. Feel free to take a look for online advertising tips and tricks!

Jump forward to the last weeks of 2008. The idea for a tractor raffle site came up and I figure that if there were two good domain names out there I’d do it. Well TractorRaffle.com was right there…waiting to be snapped up.

About this site: The whole idea of this site is to help out folks that are holding and advertising charity vehicle raffles. Advertising online can be a really effective way of getting those tickets sold however it can also be tricky. I’ll be sharing methods of online advertising, doing some how-to’s, offering advice based on my experience of looking at hundreds of different raffles online, answering questions (as best I can) and above all offering a spot online for the raffle holders out there.

I hope you enjoy the site, that it can help you out in some way and maybe save your Charity a few bucks. ! If you’ve got a question for me feel free to email me or leave a comment below.

(PS. If you’d like to get your Charity Motorcycle or Tractor Raffle posted for free please visit  HarleyDavidsonRaffles.com or TractorRaffle.com and check out the “Free Raffle Post” page to get the simple directions.)
