The International Motor Racing Research Center, located in Watkins Glen, NY, is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2008. This one-of-a-kind facility is supported entirely by donations from enthusiasts committed to preserving the heritage of motor sport and receives no support from federal, state or local sources. The Center’s core collection includes more than 3,000 reference books, as well as hundreds of films, race posters and programs, periodicals, club records and thousands of photographs.

The mission of the International Motor Racing Research Center at Watkins Glen is to be the world-class leader in the collection of materials representing the documentary heritage of amateur and professional motor racing, highlighting Sports Car, Formula 1, NASCAR, and vintage and Historic racing. The Research Center maintains archives for the personal papers of drivers, journalists and authors; rare books, serial publications, and reference books pertaining to drivers, cars, races and the history of motor racing; the historical records and newsletters of clubs and motor racing teams and corporations; and historical photographs, movie films, videos, oral histories, and memorabilia. l archival standards of preservation and bibliographic cataloguing, the Research Center is open to all for primary research, offers extensive reference and other public services, and makes the wealth of gathered information available worldwide through computer technology.

Here are some more details about the car and the special Bonus Prize for the winner; This years raffle car is a replica, 1966 Cobra and features; a completely rebuilt 1966 Ford 390 CID engine, an original “top loader”, four speed manual transmission, Ford 9″ posi-traction rear axle, with 3.55 gears, beautiful white exterior with silver stripes and a striking red leather interior, replica Halibrand knock-off wheels and much more.
