Turnstone Center for Children & Adults With Disabilities: Turnstone’s programs and services enable people with disabilities to live life to its fullest. Founded in 1943, Turnstone began as an educational program with volunteers teaching six children in one room of a house. Since those modest beginnings, the agency has expanded to serve more than 2,200 individuals and their families annually at its state-of-the-artfacility. Throughout six decades of growth, Turnstone has remained mission focused. Turnstone provides therapy, wellness and recreational programs to empower people with disabilities. Turnstone is the only not-for-profit organization in the region that provides a full range of rehabilitative, wellness, athletic and recreational programs and facilities to persons with disabilities and their families. Governed by a dynamic board of community volunteers and staffed by highly trained, caring professionals, the agency has a reputation for compassion and commitment.
